Biography


Katarzyna Grabiszewska studied harpsichord at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz (Poland) with professor Ewa Piasecka. She attended many master – classes in Poland and abroad by harpsichordist such Lilianna Stawarz, Marek Toporowski, Wladyslaw Klosiewicz, Nicholas Parle, Robert Hill.
Her passion to harpsichord modern music was a reason of beginning postgraduate studies in “Mozarteum”(Salzburg – Austria) with professor Elizabeth Chojnacka.
She took part in several competitions in the interpretation of contemporary music – Bienne (Switzerland), Antwerp (Belgium), Krakow (Poland). Many times attended in contemporary music festival “Musica Moderna” organized by Music Academy in Lodz, performing pieces written for her by professors and young composers.
She participated in concerts playing contemporary music solo or in varied chambers. In June 2001 was awarded the 1st prize in the 6th International Competitions of the Chambers with Classical Guitar “Ghitaralia” in Przemysl (Poland).

She performs with Lodz Philharmony Orchestra , playing old and modern music as well. In 2005 performed The Harpsichord Concert by Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki at the inauguration of festival “The Colours of Poland”.
Katarzyna Grabiszewska plays a double-manual instrument Neupert.
From July 2007 lives in Holland.
